LEADERSHIP

Built by operators with real-world experience across business, media, and talent.

Carter Young didn’t become an operator — he was raised as one.

Entrepreneurship wasn’t a career path; it was the environment he grew up in. For generations, his family built, owned, and operated businesses across multiple industries. His grandmother, Florence Hoover Dumas (born in 1924), was a business owner long before it was common: running and managing multiple ventures in an era when that path wasn’t readily available to women. His family’s roots trace back to the founding of Theresa, New York, where they were among the original families shaping the local economy.

That legacy continued through his father, who built and operated businesses across real estate, retail, automotive, and service industries, including owning multiple major real estate offices and leading a maintenance supply company for over two decades.

From an early age, Carter was immersed in real business environments.. watching, learning, and eventually operating within them.

By his mid-late teens and early twenties, he was already building and managing within businesses professionally. Over time, he developed a reputation for stepping into complex situations, improving operations, and driving measurable growth.

By 2015, after years spent building and scaling businesses from within, it became clear that the value he brought wasn’t tied to a single company.. it was transferable. The same operational discipline, strategic thinking, and execution could be applied across industries.

Having worked inside both high-performing and struggling environments, Carter developed a clear understanding of the pressure business owners carry and how difficult it is to find people who can be trusted to execute at a high level. That experience shaped his approach: to step in, take ownership, and remove complexity so operators can focus on what matters most.

That realization became the foundation for what is now Squared Circle Group.

Today, Carter focuses on business operations, growth strategy, and turnarounds: working directly with companies to improve performance, build systems, and create sustainable results. His approach is rooted in execution, accountability, and real-world experience—not theory.

Outside of work, Carter spends time with his family, weight lifting, and staying connected to the competitive and creative environments that shaped him.
